Infusionsoft Shopping Cart vs Order Forms

Infusionsoft Shopping Cart vs Infusionsoft Order Forms

The questions asked were:
Do you prefer the cart, orderforms, or both?
&
Why do you choose one over the other?

Here is the response with my reply:

I prefer Order Forms

In the past, the shopping cart would create a duplicate contact record unlike Order Forms which had duplicate checking. Not sure if that is still the case today but I decided Order Forms were better for my needs.

The biggest reason however…. The Shopping Cart is hosted on Infusionsofts domain. I do not feel comfortable with that. Especially with how they roll out updates which sometimes completely changes everything or usually breaks something. The shopping cart has no setting for duplicate checking that you can manage currently, however, it does default to duplicate checking by: If contact has a matching first OR last name AND a matching email

I prefer Order Forms

Because I can put in a HTML sales copy in the header. There are some cart features I want in the order form. Think it had to do with coupon codes and payment plans. You will like the new release of the eCommerce for the orderforms. The new release has some new settings for orderforms including PayPal and discounts, trials and upsells…

I prefer the Cart

I don’t need the order forms as of yet.
Sounds like you know your customers and what makes them tick as far as what converts better. If you have not tested a sales flow using an ordeform you should try it out and see if the shorter payment process increases sales.

I use Both

I use the cart for consumers as it offers PayPal but the forms are convenient for our business partners.
Awesome! The new orderforms in the next big release will allow you to use PayPal on orderforms.

I prefer the Cart

I used to use the shopping cart, but now I use order forms. Generally I prefer them, but one thing I miss is the upsell within the cart feature.
Yes. The in-cart upsells can be effective depending on your customers for sure! There are quite a few ‘post’sale Infusionsoft one-click upsells available that work with the cart. Let me know if you need any assistance! 🙂

I prefer Order Forms

Order forms are customizable and easier to manage.

The shopping cart should only be used for extensive amounts of products.
I agree with you for the most part. Since I am in the business of providing a lot of ‘one-off’ quotes for my clients. I find it easy to use the cart to create a product and throw the link to the cart in an email to my clients.

But yes, the exclusivity and focus that that orderforms provide is definitely beneficial for the sale!

I use Both

One is used as a sales letter and the other is used for short and sweet.
Awesome!

I prefer the Cart

Simple: only the Cart accepts PayPal and I want to give customers as many payment options as possible.
You will have to test out the new orderforms in the new release when it hits. It will allow for PayPal payments on the order forms. Here is a demo of the new orderforms.

I prefer Order Forms

The shopping cart doesn’t allow me to offer the customization I need to sell what I sell.
Sometimes one is definitely better than the other. I agree!

I use Both

Well, I PREFER to use the order forms, but can’t give up the checkbox upsells on the cart and although I did figure out HOW to do the same on the order forms, it wasn’t as good and was very time consuming.
Sweet! There are a lot of cool things users have figured out when using the shopping cart and/or orderforms. If anyone wants to know how to do what this Infusionsoft user is doing.. Just ask me.

I prefer the Cart

Don’t know how to use the order forms.
If you need some help you know where to ask! 😉

I use Both

I use both because there cannot be coupons on order forms. Shopping cart is very restrictive in its format. I much prefer order forms for their flexibility.
I like the orderforms for that purpose as well! But I also like the quick and easy function with the cart and buy now links.

I use Both

For landing pages we use order pages because it is an easier sales process to sell a specific product and upsell. For our general site we use the cart so people can order different products easily.

Order forms also make it easier to leadsource track.
Leadsource tracking is a very important thing to point out. Thank you. Yes, with the orderforms it is easier to track the source of the buyer for sure. Thanks for you input!

Thank You everyone for your input on this!! Please don’t hesitate to ask me any other questions regarding the eCommerce part of Infusionsoft or anything else for that matter!!
